Accessibility Statement

The purpose of this Accessibility Statement is to give an accurate description of the topography and facilities at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, bearing in mind people with varying abilities and disabilities.

The park is in a coastal location, with hills to the east and bounded on the west by a cliff, consequently much of the park is on varying inclines, with some relatively level ground on the occupied areas of the park.  There are steps in some areas, particularly down to the beach, plus the incline is greater than 1:12 on some roads and paths. Due to the natural landscape of the park, it is most suitable for ambulant users and those with suitable walking aids.  It is unlikely to suit people with user propelled wheelchairs.

General-The landscape of the Park varies from relatively flat areas to slopes. Car parking is permitted alongside, or close by, the majority of holiday homes and additional car parking is available by reception. There are one or more steps to access the holiday homes with many having decking to the side and front, depending on location, currently none are specifically set up for wheelchair access. Dogs are allowed on the Park but should be kept on a lead. There is access to the pebble beach via a long set of steps which have a hand rail but may not be suitable for someone with walking difficulties.

Roads & Paths-Access around the Park is via tarmac roads which have a number of speed bumps, highlighted by yellow road marking paint, and a speed limit of 5 m.p.h.. Access from the road to the holiday homes varies according to location and may be via grass, intermittent concrete slabs or continuous concrete slabs.

Telephones-There is a public telephone on the Park, by reception. The Park Managers live on the Park and are available to contact the emergency services should the need arise. Mobile phone reception varies around the Park and varies with service providers.

Amenities-There are no steps to the Park Reception and Shop which is also where mail is held for holiday home owners. The Washrooms and laundry all have ramp access and there is a gents toilet designed for disabled use. The ladies Washrooms has a cubicle, with shower, toilet and sink, suitable for wheelchair access. The games / social room has no steps at the entrance  and a single step to one small area inside the games room. The children's play area is of wooden construction and is surrounded by wood chip safety flooring. There is no public bus service near the Park. There is a central collection point for refuse including recycling facilities.

Holiday Homes-We sell new and preowned holiday homes, but do not rent, the design of holiday homes varies enormously, they are rarely designed for specific disabilities. Some do have wider doorways, hallways and spaces around the beds which would make wheelchair use a possibility although it is likely that further adaptation would be necessary, however some manufacturers offer new holiday homes made specifically for wheelchair use. All holiday homes are connected to electricity, gas (propane), water and drainage.

Touring-The touring field has  a relatively flat area and some gentle slopes. There are electricity hook ups and water supply with waste disposal being to the rear of the Washrooms.
