What is BS3632 Residential Specification?

BS3632 Residential Specification, introduced by the British Standards Institute, lays down the minimum standards for the design, construction, and performance of residential park homes and holiday homes.

Its goal is to ensure these homes offer comfortable and energy-efficient living spaces. BS3632 covers various aspects including structural integrity, insulation, ventilation, fire safety, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall construction quality. Specific criteria are provided for insulation materials, structural strength, heating and ventilation efficiency, among others.

The standards set by BS3632 encompass a detailed and technically complex set of requirements. However, some key benefits of adhering to this specification include enhanced insulation in walls, floors, and roofs, double glazed windows, central heating, improved ventilation, energy-efficient appliances such as LED lighting, soundproofed walls, comprehensive advice and warnings, and thermostatic-controlled hot water supply.
